A Hunting Day with Rolling Rock Hunt

Whether you are a seasoned field member or a newcomer experiencing your first day with the Rolling Rock Hunt, you can expect a morning rooted in tradition, camaraderie, and the undeniable thrill of the chase. The day begins at the meet, where we gather in the crisp morning air to share a stirrup cup, greet the Master, Huntsman and hounds.

As we move off, you will find yourself navigating the beautiful, rolling terrain of Pennsylvania, listening to the melodic cry of the hounds as they work the cover. It is a unique, sensory experience that demands focus and respect for the pack, requiring all riders to remain attentive and follow the instructions of the field masters to ensure both the safety of the horses and the success of the hunt.

Above all, a day hunting with us is about the partnership between horse, rider, and hound. Expect a journey that challenges your horsemanship, whether we are moving at a steady trot or galloping through the fields, all while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow riders who share your passion for the sport.

When we finish, you may enjoy an after hunt tea waiting—a time-honored tradition to toast the day’s events and share stories of the morning’s run.

It is an exhilarating blend of sport and social life that brings us back to the land and each other time after time; we look forward to having you ride with us.
