JNAFHC Qualifier

When and Where

Saturday, November 11, 2023.  Hounds will cast at 10:00 am from Chasity Hill: 237 Jefferson School Rd Ligonier, PA 15658.

What

Qualifier for the Junior North American Field Hunter Championship. The Championship will be held in Ligonier, PA at the Rolling Rock Hunt on September 27-28, 2024. 

At the Qualifier on November 11th, Junior Riders will wear numbered pinnies and be judged on turn out, field etiquette and riding ability during the hunt. A tailgate debriefing by the judges will follow the hunt. 

All members and riders (juniors and adults) are encouraged to join us on November 11th for the tailgate!  

PLEASE NOTE! To Qualify for the 2024 JNAFHC, you must meet the following requirements:

• Age - 18 & younger as of August 1, 2023
• Be a junior member of a Hunt or Pony Club affiliated with a Hunt.
• Successfully complete 1 Qualifier, 5 hunts, 3 hound/kennel activities (mounted or unmounted).
• Complete the requirements on the horse/pony which you plan to ride in the Championship.

Keep track of your requirements! Fill out your log and include it with your JNAFHC entry form, due August 1, 2024. 

Cost and Entries

There is no charge to participate in the Qualifier.  Entry can be made by registering here! All participants must have negative Coggins and sign a RRH Liability Release.  Sign waiver, here.

Attire

Juniors may dress in either formal hunt attire or ratcatcher (informal) hunt attire in the qualifiers. No braiding is necessary.
